Scientific Mold Testing & Mold Inspections in Seville Mold Inspections & Air Quality Testing

Concerned about indoor air quality? If you notice strange odors or have lingering allergies, it could be hidden mold. Mold can negatively affect your health and your home’s structural integrity. Our Seville mold inspection team uses professional surface and air sampling (spore trap) tests to identify hidden mold, assess your indoor air quality (IAQ), and provide a clear report on any issues found.

It would be nice if finding mold were this easy. Since dangerous mold is often invisible and airborne, visual checks alone are insufficient. Only lab testing can confirm the presence or absesnce of mold.

Don’t guess about your indoor air quality. We provide comprehensive mold testing services in Seville backed by actual science. We are the only testing provider in the area operated by an inspector with a college degree in Biology and Physiology. Get accurate answers and next business day results.

Providing Mold Inspections in Seville, OH

Our Testing Methods

A standard testing protocol with 3 samples costs $320. Each additional sample is $75.

One sample is $160. Two samples are $320…so might as well go for three at the same price.

Cultured mold and bacterial samples cost an additional $20 per sample.

We use industry-standard protocols to identify mold presence and spore counts:

  • Air Sample Testing: This process identifies invisible spores by comparing indoor samples with outdoor controls. It is widely regarded as the gold standard for confirming active mold in the environment.
  • Tape Lift & Swab Testing: This method involves direct sampling of visible mold on furniture, walls, or flooring. If you can see mold on a surface, this is the ideal way to determine the specific type and amount.
  • Cultured Samples: Surface samples are cultured to pinpoint which mold species are present and biologically active. Mold has life cycles like any organism, and this method catches growth that other testing methods miss. This is a specialized multi-day test performed at the lab.
  • Fecal Bacteria Analysis From Plumbing Leaks or Overflows: Mold isn’t the only problem caused by water. The lab analyzes samples to determine the presence of bacteria that are found in fecal matter. This is a multi-day test at the lab.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t see any visible mold. Is an inspection still necessary?
Definitely. Fungal growth frequently occurs in concealed spaces like behind walls, beneath floorboards, or inside ventilation ducts. For those detecting strange smells or dealing with past water issues, our air quality tests can identify invisible threats early, preventing costly repairs and health risks later.
How long does it take to get the lab results back?
We know that closing a home sale requires speed and efficiency. For this reason, we guarantee next-business-day turnaround for every sample we collect. You will never be left in limbo wondering about the safety of the home.

**Disclaimer:** Next Business Day results are subject to FedEx shipping schedules. Inspections performed late in the day may miss the FedEx pickup cutoff, delaying results by one day. Additionally, while rare, delays caused by FedEx shipping errors, major events that limit or prohibit standard next-business day deliveries by FedEx, or unforeseen laboratory circumstances are outside of our control.
Is ‘Black Mold’ (Stachybotrys) the only dangerous type?
Not necessarily. While “Black Mold” (Stachybotrys chartarum) is well-known, many other common molds—such as Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Cladosporium—can cause significant allergic reactions and respiratory issues at high concentrations. With backgrounds in Biology and Physiology, our team interprets the lab data to tell you exactly what is in your air compared to the natural outdoor environment.
Do you clean/remediate the mold if you find it?
We do not; we are a dedicated testing-only firm. It is unethical to be both the judge and the jury; testing and remediation should always be separate. We aim to give you an honest, unbiased look at your property’s condition without any financial incentive to find problems.
What is your ‘No Mold, No Pay’ Guarantee?
If we conduct a at least two indoor samples and an outdoor baseline (or three indoor samples)—and the lab results come back clean with no mold detected in the indoor samples, we will refund your entire mold inspection fee. You shouldn’t have to pay to find out your home is healthy.
How much is mold testing?
Prices vary based on how many samples you need, but we’ve negotiated with our labs to provide the fastest turnaround times and some of the most competitive rates in the area. Our standard package (three samples) is $320, with extra samples costing just $75 each. A single sample is $160, and two samples are $320—which is the same price as the three-sample standard mold test. If you require cultured samples (which take longer), there is a $20 surcharge per sample.
Can I just use a DIY mold test kit from the hardware store?
We do not recommend relying on store-bought DIY mold kits. These plates merely confirm existence, not danger, as mold spores are naturally present in all environments. They fail to measure air volume, so they cannot tell you if the spore count is normal or dangerously high. Our professional equipment pumps a specific volume of air to provide a scientifically accurate calculation of spore counts per cubic meter.

Often referred to as “Black Mold.” It thrives on wet cellulose (drywall/wood) and produces Satratoxin H.

Extreme: Immune system suppression, organ hemorrhage, pneumomycosis.
  • Flu-like symptoms, dermatitis
  • Nosebleeds, burning lungs
  • Intermittent hair loss
Asp / Pen Toxic / Allergen

  • Nail infection (Onychomycosis)
Chaetomium Water Indicator

Found on wet sheetrock/paper. A marker of significant water damage.

  • Associated with peritonitis
  • Cutaneous (skin) lesions
Memnoniella Toxic Potential

Closely related to “Black Mold” (Stachybotrys). Thrives on wet cellulose.

  • Similar IAQ risks to Stachybotrys
  • Respiratory irritation
Aureobasidium Irritant

A yeast-like fungus found in humidifiers or air conditioners.
